Comprehensive Eye Exams

Good eye health begins with routine eye exams. A comprehensive eye exam will uncover any changes in your vision and detect eye health problems. At Liang Eyecare, each exam is comprehensive in scope, ensuring we uncover any potential vision or eye health issues. Most exams include several tests, including a refraction, intraocular pressure check and dilation, using the latest ocular testing technology.

Eye Disease and Disorder Testing

At Liang Eyecare, we pride ourselves in providing comprehensive eye disease and disorder testing. That not only means using the latest, state-of-the-art testing technology, but also taking the time to understand your unique medical history and symptoms. We’ll provide a diagnosis, and can recommend healthcare providers for treatment, if necessary.

Knowing is the first step. We’ll help you get the answers you need to take action:

  • Cataracts – A cataract is a clouding of the eye’s natural lens, typically caused by water and protein build-up. Liang Eyecare utilizes several testing methods to diagnose this common eye disease, including pupil dilation, a visual acuity chart and tonometry.
  • Macular Degeneration – Macular degeneration often results in a loss of vision in the center of the visual field due to damage to the macula. Dr. Liang will monitor your eyes for this disorder and refer you to a specialist if necessary.
  • Glaucoma – Glaucoma is a disease that damages the eye’s optic nerve, which is responsible for relaying images to the brain. Often caused by increased fluid pressure on the eye, glaucoma results in decreased vision, and if left untreated, vision loss and blindness. Dr. Liang will measure your eye’s intraocular pressure using tonometry or may perform gonioscopy or perform a visual field analysis, to assess the condition of the optic nerve.
  • Keratoconus – Typically found in adolescent or young adult patients, keratoconus is a degenerative eye disorder that causes the cornea to thin and change shape, resulting in a distortion of vision. Dr. Liang utilizes a slit-lamp examination or keratometer to measure the shape of the cornea. Based on his findings, he may recommend fitted gas permeable rigid contact lenses for better visual acuity.
  • Astigmatism – A common disorder, astigmatism occurs when the cornea is abnormally curved, causing out-of-focus vision. Dr. Liang can determine whether you are affected by this disorder by conducting a refraction test. He is able to fit most astigmatism prescriptions with contact lenses.
  • We also provide computer visual syndrome testing, bifocal contact lenses testing and corneal transplant contact lens fitting and more.
